To the best of our knowledge Mark and Kisiah Hively are buried at Homoltonia
Cementary, Walton, WV. The graves cannot be identified as there are no
markers.
Mark was born in Monroe County, Virginia to Captain John and Sarah Lake
Hvely.
John was a Captain in the War of 1812 from Roanoke, Virginia. He came to
Roane County in 1847 and was a pioneer settler on McKown's Creek. He was
on
the committee to organize the county into Districts. Mark and most of his
family
were in the Civil War under Captain Lyle Paxton's Company and Captain William
Gandee's Company at Walton.
The post office of Walton was once on McKown's Creek where Captain John
Hively lived. John's family were farmers with large herds of cattle. One
of his
sons was a Medical Doctor of Charleston and another was a delegate to the
legislature.

Mary Susan Dodd was the daughter of Thomas and Malissa Jane Mahan Dodd.
Parents of Thomas were William E. and Malinda Dodd from Monroe County,
Virginia. Malissa's parents were Joe and Elizabeth Mahan. Thomas and Malissa's
children were James, Thomas, Clora, Della, Eva, Mamie, Ollie, Ezra, Ruby,
and
Mary.
Amos worked in the early gas and oil developments in Roane and Kanawha
Counties. He was a farmer.
All of the above deceased are buried in Cummings Cemetary, Roane County,
